One business cuts its lighting costs in half thanks to Low Carbon Workspaces
Plastipack discovered they could save a great deal of energy by switching to LED lighting, and a £5,000 grant helped them do exactly that.
With the recommendations of an energy performance certificate (EPC) report in mind, Kevin Harman, Managing Director of Plastipack, applied for a funding from Low Carbon Workspaces, the grant scheme delivered by Ngage Solutions that helps businesses identify and install energy saving measures in the workplace with grants of up to £5,000. Kevin takes up the story:
“The grant process was smooth and we quickly received £5,000. We immediately put this to use on a raft of new LED light fittings throughout our office and factory space. We previously used 400W lights and we now have 150W-200W lights so we know that we are at least halving our lighting costs.”
Ngage Solutions’ Head of Business Support Heather Dean was delighted to help Plastipack: “Installing LED lighting is a great way of reducing the energy burden on a business. It is a relatively simple change that can make a big impact as the bills roll in, so I'm glad that Kevin decided to implement this change and that he will now see his costs drop as a result of a Low Carbon Workspaces grant.”
