Bedford Borough Council instrumental in helping local businesses access environmental support

Bedford Borough Council identified a fantastic opportunity to support their business community by including details of the Low Carbon Workspaces grant alongside the council’s annual business rates letters.

After a tough financial year, the opportunity to ‘build back greener’ was a welcome relief to over 5,000 local enterprises! Dave Hodgson, Mayor of Bedford, says:

“Since I declared a climate emergency in the Borough in 2019, the Council have worked to reduce its carbon footprint and also engage and work with the Borough’s business community on efforts and actions they can take to reduce environmental impact”.

By utilising the Council’s communication mechanisms, we were able to reach a wide business audience and signpost them to the funding opportunities available from the Low Carbon Workspaces team.

I look forward to continuing to work with Bedford Borough businesses and enable organisations such as Low Carbon Workspaces to support local companies to access funding and advice to reduce their carbon impact.”
