Registration for the Solar Together scheme is now open!

The Solar Together scheme will enable businesses to access high-quality installations from pre-approved installers at a competitive price.

Solar Together is an initiative helping small businesses to invest in renewables through a group buying scheme for solar panels, with scope to also include battery storage and EV charge points where feasible.

The innovative scheme will enable businesses to access high-quality installations from pre-approved installers at a competitive price.

Several local authorities, including Buckinghamshire Council, Central Bedfordshire Council, Bedford Borough Council, Windsor & Maidenhead Council and Luton Borough Council have partnered with independent expert, iChoosr, to bring the Solar Together scheme to businesses in their local areas.

Businesses can register online to become part of the group for free and without obligation.

Pre-approved UK solar PV suppliers will participate in an auction, with the improved purchase-power of the group-buying system allowing for more competitive pricing. The volume and geographical concentration make it possible for suppliers to maximise installation efficiencies, which they can pass on to others in the form of lower installation costs.

Following the auction, registered businesses will be emailed a personal recommendation which will include information about the winning installer, a complete system, costs, and expected savings. Businesses will have 6 weeks to choose whether the recommendation is accepted or not, and if so, the specifics of their installation will then be confirmed with a technical survey, after which a date can be set for the installation of their solar PV system.

Marie-Louise Abretti, iChoosr UK Solar Manager, says: “With energy prices continuing to increase, everyone is looking for opportunities to reduce their carbon emissions, save on energy bills and increase their independence from the grid. The Solar Together group-buying scheme offers a straightforward way to make an informed decision and to access a competitive offer from a trusted, vetted provider.”
