Ecosystem services (the benefits people derive from nature), such as food, water, timber, and natural flood protections, total $125 trillion per year. These assets occur naturally and at present are provided free to businesses across the globe.

However, if action is not taken to protect nature and these natural cycles and products, with the foundations needing to be laid at COP26, businesses could face a seismic $1 trillion of costs over the next five years due to ecosystem service disruption caused by climate change.
